Happy Birthday, Mom!

Yes, she changed our diapers
and woke us up for school.
In return, we played outside,
until the night grew cool.

She helped us write our state reports
and made us play our scales.
And in the case of arguments,
meted justice without fail.

So join me on this special day,
and wish her all the best.
It's happy birthday, Sandy.
You really are the greatest.

Happy birthday Mammy!

Jeepers, Ben, you're not supposed to make Mom cry! Thank you very much, though. I feel honored, if not a bit exposed for banishing my children to the out-of-doors, til bath time! The younger kids really "missed out" on some of the old Mom of Terre Haute days!

Does anyone remember "inside" days and "outside" days? I, for one, plan to utilize that genius idea to cut down on unnecessary bathing! : )

Happy Birthday Mom! Love you.

Oh, yes! Inside days and outside days. Had kind of forgotten about those, til you mentioned them. Well, what can I say? The "declared" day connoted that these were established days, in the parenting world, and that settled the matter. Subject closed! "And in the case of arguments, meted justice without fail."

I remember that playing outside late at night was a good thing. Where we really banished? I counted it a privilege (which my daughters do not usually have, oddly enough).

Somehow I feel that I am still writing, or am about to write, a state report.

Thanks Mom, you are greatly appreciated!
