And the award goes to Ben, in Minneapolis, who captured these photos on his way to work this morning! Clicking on the second picture actually shows the big flakes of snow! Though I'm told by a little 4 yr. old girl in the U.P. that they have snow up there too, so maybe Uncle Ben will share his honor with the other brave souls in the far north.

wow I can't believe it snowed already!!!
Sadly, it has come to the point of shoveling. We didn't even get a chance to rake the yard - the leaves are still on the trees (fake sobbing).
Well, this is a great honor and I have so many people to thank. God, first of all. And the weather forecasters. And my loving and supportive family. I couldn't have done it without you.
I'm proud to share this award with the Barnharts of the north. And while Ella and Elisabeth are, no doubt, reveling in the first snow of the season, I suspect Peter's wondering why he was brought into this cruel, white world. Hang in there, Peter—sledding will make it all worthwhile!
Please. We've already been through our entire winter here in Chicago. We received all of our snow for the year, melted and converted it into clean drinking water for developing countries, and have moved on to spring. That's right - efficient and charitable.
