Ella Asks for Something Special This Christmas

Ella has been very good this year and has asked for something special for Christmas. Yet, her parents may not be able to deliver until next June at the earliest.

Ella enjoys playing with Fletcher, and she decided that it would be even more fun to have another playmate around the house. Mom and Dad suggested a kitten and that seemed just right to her. But Fletcher vetoed any felines, saying "I'm cat enough for this house".

Mom and Dad decided that a new sibling should do the trick. Since the real deal won't be here until June 25 or so, Ella has been given a photo preview to tide her over.

Upon hearing the news, Fletcher became overjoyed. In his excitement, he donned a party hat and started singing Happy Birthday. Though he's a few months early, his sentiment is well appreciated.

  1. Is Fletcher looking at the Emerald City? I think I see the reflection in his eyes.

  4. You know, Dad's last comment has me thinking that "Kitten" should be the front-runner for names for the new tike. That way, Daniel doesn't have to be wrong. Though he'll probably be confused.

  5. Or maybe Kitty, Ben, (like on Gunsmoke.) Daniel wouldn't be confused until he saw her in the flesh (instead of fur!) Katrina would be somewhat close, but seems to carry with it some ominous, depressing feelings. But none of those names are suitable for a BOY! Not saying it's a "Frank" but the odds are pretty good (as babies go!) And Grandpa Paul and Grandma Kris already have 3 little grandgirls; I wouldn't be surprised if somebody, who has graduated to a higher realm than the rest of us, is pulling strings, to insure a little grandboy, this time, esp. for Grandpa Paul. Yup! Just might be a "Frank" this time!
