Meet Groucho, Bruno, Sherlock and Wolfdad

This winter we have been blessed with a household of small animals. They are all quite active and cute, except for Daniel. I'd like to introduce you to:

Sherlock, who has escaped from his cage twice already,

and Groucho and Bruno, by whom the kitchen has already been christened multiple times.

"You guard the door. I'll, uh, be guarding that weird looking box over there."

And lastly, Dad turning into some unknown creature of the full moon.

  1. Thanks for the pictures, David. Some questions/comments:

    1. Were there not two hamsters when I was home at Christmas? Is the absence of said hamster related to the appearance of Groucho and/or Bruno?

    2. I'm relieved to find that you've renamed the dogs. I just wasn't looking forward to coming home to two feuding, heiress, anorexic jack russell terriers who collectively own enough diamonds to buy out the state of Minnesota.

    3. Wolfdad seems to be exercising in that picture, which is a completely normal activity to do before a full moon. I'd say he's at about the apex of a jumping jack. Just one, mind you.

  2. I don't know who said their names were Bruno and Groucho, I think they are Nikki and Paris. I have been coming home from work finding them in front of the TV watching Classie and eating chocolate Bone Bones.

  3. By the way, I was just celebrating the moment as I reached the peak of the highest sand dune in Muskegon.

  4. I don't think that the FEMALE dogs should be named Groucho and Bruno. Though you might feel a need to give them masculine names (living in a fully male household up until this time), they really should have more feminine names. I'm not necessarily in favor of Paris and Nikki (actually I don't like those names a whole lot), and they don't have to be really flowery names, but something decidedly less masculine would be appropriate. However, at least they're dogs and won't have a complex about it...we're just not giving you any input into the naming of the coming young one.

As a side note, the dogs are pretty cute, though I think Fletcher is quite a nice looking dog myself.

  5. Here, here! I agree with Rachel, and can say (first hand) that Groucho and Bruno do not fit those sweet faces. I suggested Daisy and Tina (mother and daughter neighbors I grew up near) but realize that "The Girls" are at the mercy of an all-male household!

  6. How about Gertrude and Thelma? Those are female names.

  7. How about Poopy and Porky? One of them can't stop eating, the other one can't stop - well, you get the idea.

  8. All this talk of potential names is fine, but I'd like an answer to my first question?

  9. I love them! they're my dogs, right? what about the names Chloe and Emma?

  10. I like Lisa's names better than any others I've heard. Though I'm still holding out for Helga and Greta.

  11. OK, Ben, I don't know why David didn't take a picture of Daniel's hamspster, but last I knew, it was still kicking. And as for names, how about Nikki and Twilla?

  12. It's hampster and Twila! I think Dad does this on purpose, just to see if anyone is really paying attention. And just for the record, I've seen the hampsters do more running, than kicking!

  13. Yup, Sandy gets another point for spelling. So far she is in the lead, when I am too old to wright anymore, I'll annouce the winner. I learned my spelling at the Fodrocy school of fine arts, Al Coon was the distinguished language arts teacher.
