Jesus' little lamb

While it has never been my dream to watch middle school students perform original rap compositions or self-choreographed dance routines, that's exactly what I found myself doing this Friday evening, along with my equally enthusiastic family. The Reeths Puffer Middle School had their annual talent show tonight, and the youngest Barnhart was slated to perform the "Maple Leaf Rag" on the piano. He steadfastly resisted my suggestions to make a last-minute performance change to "Maple Leaf Rap."

Along with the trophy for 3rd place, Daniel also won the favor of all the ladies of RPMS.

  1. I'm sure he would have placed even better if he'd have had a couple of the RPMS ladies standing at and sitting on the piano in period ragtime dress. Of course it sounds like there will be plenty lined up for next time. Good work Daniel. On behalf of Barnharts everywhere, thanks for resisting the urge to rap (though I challenge Janell to post her original "Maple Leaf Rap" if she wants - maybe Andy can help).
