Re: Garage

  1. Is it just me or is this post a little lacking? For one thing, there's not a single picture of the roof. Now I don't expect David to drive back to Muskegon just for a picture of the roof, but maybe Ben or Steve could post something. Wait, that's me. Ok, I'll try to post what I have. In the mean time, I think Daniel or Mom should be responsible for a current photo.

  2. I hope you do post some photos, Steve. If I'd taken any I would have put some of my own on the blog.

Since I didn't have my camera, though, I'll have to rely on my powers of literary description. According to online conversion sites, a picture's worth exactly one thousand words, so I'll try to describe about three picture's worth of the garage.

    Ahem.

The first day they went up against the garage, it was a mere shell, but still it mocked them. All their lives they had trained for this day, and yet now that it had arrived they felt as unprepared as children whose parents have neglected to potty-train them . . . who also happen to find themselves needing to use the bathroom. Pulling up their metaphorical diapers, they cautiously approached the beastly structure, and with a timid "thwack" tested its strength to determine whether it would collapse beneath their heroic forms, or lift them still higher to the sun, that sky god who also mocked them. If you're not picking up on the common thread, there's a lot of mocking going on here, and you'll just need to bear with me.

Nanuk, who they also called Steve, decided to test the garage's mettle for himself, and though the others warned him against it, he took a long run and vaulted up to the hinterlands of the roof. As surefooted as a goat, Nanuk showed the others the way, and blazed a trail that only the most determined and courageous could follow.

    [2813 words to follow shortly]

  3. Oh, you guys are in good form! I'm anxiously awaiting the other 2813 words, Ben, dictionary at my fingertips! I can only imagine a response from Dad. You guys could be at this awhile, not unlike the garage, in some respects...no mockery intended!

  5. Hey, I have some nice pictures and some of Ben, Steve, and Mike on the roof showing off all their manly muscles. Well, except for the one of Ben sitting on the roof "relaxing". Being the "computer unexpert" that I am, (right David?) I just put them on a CD and Mike has them to post - someday, right Mike? I know....he's too busy working on and riding mopeds, doing house work, laundry, answering phone calls and being a good dad and a good friend. The garage looks great!
