It's a snow day in the Keweenaw! The girls still had school today, but we made sure there was time to play outside after lunch. They shoveled snow and made a snow cave "in case there's a tornado".
Our snow banks have been building steadily since mid-January but we haven't had a good blizzard until yesterday. The snow was heavy and with strong winds the drifts built quickly. More than once, we had to clear a four foot drift next to the garage so we could get out.
"I liked to play. If you look at the picture you can see the Snow Cave. Yay! I love you all." ~Ella
"I liked sliding down the snow bank into the path. It was freezing fun!" ~Elisabeth
Peter and Andrew would have had liked to play outside but they were getting ready for nap time.
A beautiful end to a snowy day!
That looks so fun! I'm glad you got a snow day Ella and Elisabeth.
ReplyDeleteWow! Now that is some snow! I'm still waiting for a real snowstorm here in Minneapolis. We're supposed to get a few more inches this weekend, but nothing like what you guys got.
ReplyDeleteHappy snow days!
Blow me down... now that's a winter wonderland! And I thought we had a lot of snow! Got a "puny" 10.5" over the past 36 hrs. :) Looks like you girls had a lot of fun:) Great pictures, Rachel; thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou know Steve, give those kids a few years and a little parent free time and they just might figure out how to make a snow slop off the low side of your garage roof. Sort of like the snow slop that you and Ben built off the shed roof. It's in their genes.
