Stepping Out in Style

Well, I hate to presume this is more interesting than a Scrib's pizza on New Year's Eve, but I've mentioned my sporting of a tuxedo T-shirt on New Year's and more than one person has asked to see a picture of it (to be clear, actually, two people asked to see a picture of it).

So, to quiet the clamoring (seriously, people, I can't deal with all the emails and phone calls), here's a photo of me in said tuxedo T-shirt. My date, who severely underestimated my ability to be dually formal and casual, is the lovely Rachel Schreiner (Matt's wife Leah's younger sister). It was generally agreed that she had the best dress at the party.

For anyone curious, the tuxedo T-shirt has been steam-cleaned and pressed and is hanging in my closet as it awaits the next formal occasion. I might be able to swing a deal on these for your wedding, David.

Blow me down, there really is such a thing as a tuxedo T-shirt! Actually, I hadn't even known about it, but certainly do now, and you present quite the combo of casual, yet formal! Your date, Rachel, doesn't seem to mind your blend, and it's a very nice picture of you both. Thank you for the lovely and entertaining post!

I wish I had know about those when I got married! I had to wear a white tuxedo! It didn't match my grimmy fingernails.

do you realize how many times I had to read what was in the parentheses before I understood that your date was NOT Matt's wife? (hint: it was a lot)

P.S. she's gorgeous :)

Not to take anything away from Rachel, but Lisa, it is the dress that makes a person. You would think Karl looks just as gorgeous in that dress.

Sorry to beat you to it, but Valueland already swung me a deal on the full suit. Sweatpants included.

David, I hope they're the kind of sweatpants where I can pull one leg up halfway, cause that's the way we roll over here.

Thanks for all your other comments, everybody. And yes, Lisa, she is gorgeous, though she looks uncannily like Karl when wearing anything other than that dress. I can't quite explain it.
