Grandpa's Secret Life
Nothing like an article from The Onion to kick of 2011. I was perusing my local copy of this fine, upstanding publication when I was surprised to see a photo of Grandpa Schotts, circa about 1992 I'm guessing. Apparently he's been driving an 18-wheeler for Entenmann's, which does answer some of those questions about the never-ending supply of blueberry, cherry, and chocolate snack pies we got from him when I was a kid. On a side note, chocolate snack pies are a culinary invention that needs to be stricken from cookbooks and convenience-store shelves everywhere.

Whoa! That does resemble Grandpa Schotts! Can't be, though; don't recognize the shirt:) Really, though, I'd like to meet this person, and see what he sounds like, and observe his mannerisms. There's a picture at First General Credit Union that, for all the world, looks like Grandma Schotts! I like seeing it there, because it reminds me so much of my Mom. You're right, Ben, that sure looks like Grandpa! That's not my Dad, is it?
That is a look a like picture Ben. However I would like to take exception with you about the chocolate filled pies. I used to enjoy those whenever I could find them for sale. If you are going to ban them from stores then have the contraband sent to me for disposal.

I've always wondered where THE ONION gets their photos, because obviously the stories are fake and yet the photos look pretty real. I have no idea where they got that photo, but thought the similarity to Grandpa Schotts was pretty remarkable (although, you're right, Lisa, there's no neck brace—maybe it's in the cab of his truck).
And, Dad, I'll be sure to buy a couple stale chocolate pies for you next time I'm in a convenience store.
