Day One of the Great Bike Trip
Day One of the Great Bike Trip to NYC: a good deal of a learning curve. Heavy winds and rain riding down Lake Michigan from Chicago, followed by three flats at different various places, a broken spoke and bent rim, compliments of Gary, Indiana, and a ton of lasagna and great food, from the kindness of the Buresh family in LaPorte, Indiana. Day One; 77 miles: complete.

Neat picture, Daniel! Guessing that's Reece? Wow, what a day! You made good progress, despite the weather and other obstacles. Hopefully, tomorrow is better. So grateful for the hospitality of the Buresh family. Good to know you guys made it through Day 1 of, "The Great Bike Escape!"
Yeah, I like that picture too, Daniel. And what a first day!! Lots of miles, and a little road wear for the first stretch. I hope you find better roads and wind at your back in the future.
