Pre-Departure: A Wonderful Send-Off Party
Fort Sill, Oklahoma: The Forsaken Land
I ate more MREs this summer than I can even count, and more meaningfully care to remember.
Loved the mail I got! Thank you all!
Had a few days to get out and visit a museum after our course finished in Oklahoma.
The direct commission clinical psychology interns.
Fort Sam Houston, Texas: Still Hot, Still Forsaken
Great to catch up with family.
Thanks Janell!
Was doing quite a bit of walking for awhile to try to help my cardiovascular endurance.
Loved catching up with family.
Getting packed and prepared to go into the field for eight days.
Finally, at the end of 2 and a half month of being here, I figured out where to get meat and where I could grill it at the hotel.

It was fun to see the pictures, didn't see Lake Oklahoma or Lake Texas anywhere. Doesn't every State have it's own Lake Michigan? Looked like an ordeal, but good training for future ordeals I suppose. This gave me a good idea of where you were and what you did this summer, thanks!
Great post, Daniel! Loved seeing all the pictures and what you've been doing these past several months. Thank you for taking the time and going to the effort to post all of this. Loved it!
Where can I get one of those potato pockets?
Hmmm...either the blog police deleted my comment or I made some kind of mistake while posting it. Which I would never do, so clearly it's the police.
Anyway, thanks for all the pictures Daniel! It was really cool to look through them and see some of the things you've been up to. It can be hard to visualize when you're describing things sometimes because it's like an alternate universe, so this was neat to see. Thanks Daniel, and proud of you for sticking it out through what's probably been a grueling and often boring several months!
I loved seeing this retrospective of photos! Somehow I missed this post when it first came out, but it's great to see the summer as remembered through all of these wonderful pictures.
