Laketon Soccer Going to the Dogs!

In a highly anticipated scrimmage this past Thursday, the allstar Laketon U-14 boy team versed the girl team they shared the field with. Unfortunately, only half the team was there; the other half were scrimmaging the U-16 boys travel team. The game began, the boys cocky and ready, the girls determined to win. But, alas, in the end, the girls won 4-0. Now, before you jump to conclusions about this boy team, even though we were yet again beat today by North Muskegon today(3-1), and even though the other half of the team tied the travel team. Perhaps instead the coaching is bad, perhaps the parents are undersupportive, but whatever it is, it is extremely clear, it is not the boys fault we lost, it is the Laketon Township Soccer Council and the coaches. "It's going to the dogs!", a certain Devon Joslin said Thursday, who coincidentally is son of Coach Joslin, partner coach of U-14 Laketon team. "It's not our fault at all!", an anonymous source put in. As you can see, the Laketon Soccer Association is under a dark rule of corruption. "I have to wear shoes my older brother's wore, were so undersupported by our parents!", Daniel Underhill said in a secret interview behind the dumpsters after the game on Saturday. As the evidence shows, it isn't the kids fault, it is the fault of the parents and the Coaches. "The Laketon Soccer Association and coaches will not be held responsible for poor losing", president of Laketon soccer said, who is also partner coach in the boys U-14 team. But, will he? As the season progresses, we will see where the problem is, the coaches and undersupporting parents, or the boys team who "just can't get it together".

I saw the game, it's going to be a looong season. Not really, I think they started out slow last year and ended up winning the tournament at the end of the season.

Hmmm, very interesting. I remember the pain of losing to a girl's team...Well, ok, not really. I can imagine it though. Keep up the hard work. Don't let it get you down. Keep focusing on who you can blame. Anyone but yourselves!

Thanks for the compliment Andy, unlike other parents I know. Yeah, I totally will keep blaming everyone except myself. In fact, I've decided to make it my pastime.

Actually, I don't think it was a compliment.

I thought mine was sort of a compliment.

Ok. I no longer accept compliments on my entries.

In case anyone is interested, the star soccer player won't go to bed and he has to be at his game at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Any wonder the team has gone to the dogs?

Just an update on the game, Laketon 0, North Muskegon 5. Daniels coach fed the team Alpo snacks after the game. Us parents had to endure the loss in the rain no less.
